Mining Innovation, Rehabilitation, and Applied Research Corporation (MIRARCO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Chris Lane as the new Director Software, effective September 29, 2020.
MIRARCO’s Software Centre consists of specialists in mining engineering and software development. They conduct applied research for mining and are developing the next generation of decision-support tools. Currently, the team are working on the Federal government and industry funded Natural Heat Exchange Engineering Technology (NHEET) research project and the development of MoFrac, a discrete fracture network tool used for a variety of rock engineering applications.
Dr. Lane is a professional engineer with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Dalhousie University. His industry and academic research background are focused on modelling and design of commercial processes. Dr. Lane’s research is focused on commercial technologies that improve Canada’s global economic competitiveness while reducing overall environmental impact. Prior to joining MIRARCO, Dr. Lane’s work has contributed to industrial technology development supporting Syncrude Canada Ltd., NORAM Engineering Ltd., and Titanium Metals Corporation.

Dr. Chris Lane
